Why Comebacks?

Because life needs someone to punch it in the… oh, well, you get the point.

A well-worn hardcover journal with a deep teal fabric cover lies open on a slightly scuffed wooden desk, its pages filled with looping handwritten lines and doodled arrows that suggest plans and second chances. A pair of scratched reading glasses rests half on the journal, half on a printed trail map marked with a bright highlighter path curving toward a summit. Soft overcast window light spills in from the left, creating gentle shadows and a calm, reflective atmosphere. In the blurred background, a neatly folded running hoodie and a reusable water bottle wait by the door. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, feels intimate, hopeful, and quietly playful.

Lost. Found. Searching.

I started The Comeback Kid not only to share my journey of rediscovering who I am and what my interests are, but also as a space to contemplate life and all the complications my mid 20’s bring. If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that healing isn’t linear… so buckle up.

Two hikers walking on a mountain path with a sign reading 'SUMMIT 2 MILES'
A pair of muddy trail-running shoes with frayed laces sits just inside a slightly open front door, beside a neatly coiled jump rope and a small stack of dog-eared self-help paperbacks with colorful, worn spines. Outside, through frosted glass, hints of a bright morning suggest a world waiting to be rejoined. Natural golden hour light streams in, catching droplets of dried mud and casting long, soft shadows across a tiled floor. Photographic realism, captured from a low angle with the shoes in sharp focus and the background softly blurred, creates a mood of fresh starts, resilience, and playful determination after being lost for a while.
A sturdy, weathered hiking backpack leans against a mossy rock at the edge of a forest overlook, its zippers slightly open to reveal a neatly rolled flannel shirt, a paperback novel, and a compact fitness band. A folded, crinkled map is spread on the rock, small hand-drawn circles marking possible routes back down the mountain. Late afternoon sunlight filters through tall pines, creating dappled light and shadow that dance across the scene. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with wide depth of field, captures the sweeping valley below in soft focus. The mood is adventurous yet grounded, playful and encouraging, embodying the feeling of finding your way again.

Is this Blog for you?

Here’s the deal: this blog won’t be for everyone, and THAT’S OKAY!

If you’ve ever felt lost, like a side character in your own story, or just frustrated with how life unfolds sometimes, then I urge you to take a read. My life is no perfect storybook and I don’t think I’m Yoda by any means, but I want to share my experiences of learning how to have a comeback. How to not let stress and anxiety consume everything. This is all new to me too, so I can’t promise perfection because I don’t believe in it. But what I can promise is that discovering yourself is never easy and I am right there with you.
