A Brief Interruption to our Usually Scheduled Program

Ehmm *unceremoniously clears my throat and shuffles a script* Thank you all for tuning in!

Today we will be talking about stars.

Yep. You heard it here first folks. S T A R S.

A little not so known fact about me (since you guys don’t know who I am) is that when I’m in a funk, I get all my negative juice out into poetry.

A palette cleanser if you will. And today I am going to share that poem with you.

I thought through various options of how to present this to you… do I just drop it and peace out? Do I explain what this poem means to me? That it’s not really about stars?

And alas I arrived at the conclusion that I don’t want to do either of those. What I will do, is share what I learned about stars (it’s brief relax) and let you interpret the poem to however it resonates with you. That is if it does. And if it doesn’t… battle depression and get back to me.

Now lo and behold my star knowledge in all its wealth: ancient stars light dims, and when they die they explode and what is left in the atmosphere is recycled in the making of new stars. Boom. Do you feel super knowledgable now?

No? You already knew that… ok….

An Implosion disguised as an Explosion

Open your eyes

The Star whelped.

Perched closest to their feeble planet,

Yet shadowed for millennia-

A dim hum amongst nights’ stark-

A faint blimp imperceivable to a human’s sky-

Their eyes glazed with greed,

Hungrily hunting illuminated treasures-

Fervent tears slid down the gaseous body-

 Why couldn’t they see?

Had its permanence among generations vanished as completely as its light?

They would see its tears-

Now hurdled towards their destruction, they descend-

Oh well,

The Star thought.
